Founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party and former finance minister, Tariq Hameed Karra on Saturday joined the Indian National Congress in New Delhi.
Karra joint the party in the presence of Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi and Vice-President Rahul Gandhi, reports said.
Pertinently, Karra defeated the National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah during the 2014 parliamentary elections from Srinagar constituency.
However, Karra, during the 2016 summer unrest resigned from the Parliament seat and also resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party.
Reports said that Karra was not happy with the PDP-BJP alliance, and called it an “unnatural alliance”.
