Unveiling his grass-root touch once again, the Gandhi scion and Congress vice chairman, Rahul Gandhi Friday turned up at Lal Chowk and much to the awe of onlookers had a tea from a mobile tea stall.

Rahul Gandhi spent some time with the vendor sipping teas and once done, he handed over Rs 200 to the vendor.

The vendor told Kashmir Life that he was surprised to see Rahul ordering his cavalcade to stop, walking towards to him. “He sat on the bench before telling me, ‘Make a tea for me,’ ” the vendor said.

It was his final day of three day JK visit.

Before flying back, Rahul, as per Congress sources had a meeting with his party workers at Congress Head office at MA Road.

While addressing Saffron growers at Pampore yesterday, Rahul invoked his Kashmir roots, saying that “sufferings faced by Kashmiris make me sad”.
