SRINAGAR: The Railway Ministry will provide a 3 per cent discount on unreserved ticket bookings made through the RailOne app using any digital payment method, effective from January 14 to July 14, 2026, NDTV reported.
Currently, passengers receive a 3 per cent cashback on unreserved tickets booked via R-wallet on the RailOne app. The new move aims to encourage wider digital adoption by extending the discount to all digital payment modes, according to a ministry letter dated December 30, 2025 cited by NDTV, addressed to the Centre for Railway Information System (CRIS) for updating the software system.
The letter stated that feedback on the discount scheme will be furnished by CRIS in May for further examination. Officials clarified that the existing 3 per cent cashback for R-wallet transactions will continue alongside the new discount, and that the offer will not apply to bookings made through any other online platform.
