As Parts of Kashmir were lashed with rain day before, even as weatherman forecast possibility of snow amid fall in day temperature across the Kashmir Valley including this summer capital of the state. The Kargil town on Monday night recorded minus 6. 2 degree Celsius, as coldest night.

The capital city recorded 3.2, degree Celsius, Ski resort Gulmarg was at minus 4,  tourist destination Pahalgam was at 1.1-degree Celsius. While as Leh and Ladakh recorded minus 5 degree Celsius

Meanwhile, an official of the meteorological department said that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain/snow at most places in Kashmir and scattered places in Ladakh during next 24-hours.

Meanwhile, the state’s director of meteorological department Sonam Lotus, wrote on his Facebook timeline: “Light snow(Higher reaches) most likely at some places of north Kashmir, now, increasing gradually in intensity and distribution by tonight and most likely to persists over our state till 14th Nov. Expect widespread Rain/snow during these days in Jmu, Kmr & Mountains of Ladakh, Zanskar etc.. Chances of Heavy Rain/snow is very less, although, snowfall of the order of( 5-10 Inch on mountains) can’t be ruled out either. Current weather: Light snow at some places of north Kmr, Minamarg (sic).”
