Rain, Thunderstorms Likely Across Jammu Kashmir

   

SRINAGAR: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Monday issued a weather forecast for Jammu and Kashmir, predicting a spell of intermittent rainfall and thunderstorms across various regions from July 1 to July 8, with potential risks of flash floods, landslides, and shooting stones in vulnerable areas.

According to the forecast, the weather on June 30 is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy with brief spells of rain and thundershowers at scattered places, particularly in parts of the Jammu division, where moderate rain may occur at some locations.

From July 1 to 5, the Met department has predicted intermittent rain and thundershowers at scattered places across the Union Territory. This will intensify between 6 and 8 July, with many areas likely to experience more widespread precipitation.

An official advisory from the Met Centre has warned of possible flash floods and landslides or mudslides in vulnerable regions, urging the public and travellers to remain cautious, especially in hilly terrains.

Despite the rainfall prediction, farmers have been advised to continue their agricultural operations as planned, as no widespread disruption is anticipated in the immediate term.
