SRINAGAR: Several BJP leaders including Union minister of state Dr Jitendra Singh and BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav on Tuesday have put themselves under self-quarantine after they got to know that the Jammu and Kashmir President has tested positive for COVID-19.
Taking to social networking site Twitter Dr Jitendra Singh wrote, “Have gone into self-quarantine with immediate effect from 4 PM today, after receiving the news about Corona positive test of J&K BJP President Ravinder Raina who had accompanied us from Srinagar to Bandipora on July 12 (sic).”

National General Secretary Ram Madav said though he has tested negative for Covid-19 five times in the last two weeks, he is still putting himself under self-quarantine for precaution.
“Am quarantining myself for a few days since my colleague and BJP J&K president Ravinder Raina tested positve for coronavirus today and I was with him 48 hrs ago in Srinagar. I tested negative for Covid-19 five times in last two weeks. Yet taking precautions to ensure safety of me and others,” Ram Madhav tweeted.

Raina tested positive for Covid-19 today. Raina said he had mild fever but no other symptom, and he decided to get tested for Covid-19.
“Dear friends, I was staying in Bandipora in Kashmir for five days after militants killed BJP leaders Wasim Bari, Umar Sultan and his father. Today, I had mild fever. I got tested for Covid-19 and my report is positive. I do not have any other symptom,” Raina tweeted.
It was not immediately known wherefrom Raina picked the infection. He was recently in Kashmir where he visited the family of Waseem Bari in Bandipore. Bari was killed by militants along with his brother and father. Raina had accompanied Ram Madhav, Dr Jitendra Singh, Avinash Rai Khanna and other senior BJP leaders to pay their respects to the slain activist and meet his family comprising his widow, her minor son, and sister.
Reports said that the administration has now started contact tracing.
