SRINAGAR: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday appealed to people not to believe the rumors and said that the administration is not lowering its guard amid the prevailing situation following the heavy rainfall.
Taking on to micro-blogging platform X, Omar Abdullah wrote “Dal Gates have not been opened, Kandizaal bund has not been breached or broken.The Jehlum is climbing but at a much slower rate than was feared. The administration is not going to lower its guard, we continue to monitor the situation very closely, but at the same time we appeal to people not to believe rumours that are being spread unnecessarily.”

Pertinently, administration and police have issued helplines and also deployed their personnel and machinery for any contingency.
