Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday issued the following statement regarding a blast in Srinagar saying that police reached on the spot at Zero Bridge in Srinagar at 1400hrs today following reports of a grenade attack by militants.

A police spokesman said that officers attended the crime spot and found that three cops were injured in the militant attack.

“The injured include an ASI and Two cops who were deployed for managing the vehicular traffic movement as the area witnesses the huge traffic rush,” said the spokesman.

“The injured have been shifted to the hospitals for the treatment of their injuries. They are stated to be stable,” he said.

Police have registered a case in this regard and officers continue to work to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
