rajendraIn order to review the security arrangements for Darbar move from Jammu and its opening at Srinagar, Director General of Police (DGP) K Rajendra Kumar convened a meeting at Police Headquarters in Jammu Wednesday.

The meeting was attended by senior police, para-military and intelligence officers.

Threadbare discussions were held with regard to the security arrangements made in connection with the closing of Civil Secretariat and other Move offices at Jammu and their opening in the summer capital.

Officers present in the meeting apprised about the security and deployment arrangements put in place for smooth Darbar move.  The meeting also discussed other arrangements made by different wings of Jammu and Kashmir Police.

Rajendra stressed upon the officers to work in close coordination and make all required security arrangements in the twin capital cities and on National highway. He asked the officers to formulate a comprehensive traffic plan to ensure hassle free traffic movement on the days convoy of vehicles  with office records and the employees move towards the summer capital.

The DGP said that security of employees and transportation of office records from Jammu to Srinagar is to be focused and all security arrangements need to be put in place in consultation with other security agencies. He said that deployment of security and traffic personnel should be enhanced to make the arrangement fruitful. Availability of recovery vehicles on National Highway and establishing joint control rooms to ensure communication and coordination among the agencies was also stressed by the DGP. He said that assistance booths for the employees would be set up at various locations on the days employs move from Jammu to Srinagar.

Discussing the security arrangements to be put in place at Srinagar, Rajendra said that security of vital installations, including civil secretariat and other offices, hotels hired for accommodating move employees needs to be focused. DGP also asked the officers to deployment additional manpower in the summer capital to keep law and order maintained.

Rajendra said that services of SPOs should be utilized to strengthen manpower in different wings of the organization. He said that SPOs from less important postings should be withdrawn and deployed on other places of requirement along with other police personnel. He said that recognizing their services government has enhanced their remuneration recently and we should utilize their services properly.

DGP said that domination of sensitive places, Joint night patrolling and Naka checking on different places in the cities and national highway should be made to check the activities of miscreants. Sharing the inputs among the intelligence agencies is also necessary to make security arrangement, said the DGP.

Earlier, the Inspectors General of Police of Kashmir and Jammu Zones, SJM Gillani and Danesh Rana apprised the meeting about the various security arrangements made by the concerned Zones for closing and opening of Darbar move. They informed that additional manpower has been deployed at the identified places in the capital cities and National highway. IGP traffic, SA Watali also briefed the meeting about the traffic arrangement made by the wing.

Among others, the meeting was attended by Spl. DG (Coordination) SK Mishra, ADsGP, VK Singh, Dilbag Singh and L Mohanty, IsGP, SL Sharma, Jagjit Kumar and IG CRPF Jammu, Kuldeep Dhar, DIsGP, AA Wani and Surinder Gupta and other police officers.
