Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday ridiculed the statement of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in which he said ‘New-Delhi would not go against the sentiments of people of Jammu & Kashmir on Article 35-A’ and said it is an attempt to “hoodwink” international community.

“The statement of Indian Home Minister is entirely sham, fraud and deceit and an attempt to hoodwink international community from the ground realities of Kashmir,” a spokesperson of Jama’at said in a statement.

He said that those who raised concerns over the conspiracy hatched by New Delhi regarding Article 35-A have been virtually harassed, intimidated and jailed in police lock-ups to shut their voices.

“Had New-Delhi respected the sentiments of people in 1947, situation would have been entirely different? Neither the blood of innocents would have been floated nor hundreds of graveyards would have been established?”
