SRINAGAR: To promote Mushroom cultivation in the district, Department of Agriculture Rajouri on Tuesday provided 30 quintal Mushroom compost here to 65 marginal farmers.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Agriculture Officer, Janak Raj said the main objective of providing compost by the department is to encourage the farmers to encourage cultivation of mushroom on scientific lines. He also invited the farmers to get training offered by the department in the latest technique and methods being used in mushroom cultivation, the spokesman said.
He said that Mushroom cultivation is an indoor activity and provides good employment opportunity to the farmers.
