Speaking during his second consecutive visit to shelling-affected areas in Mendhar, Rana underscored the urgent need for protective infrastructure in vulnerable regions. “The provision of mandatory bunkers would go a long way in ensuring the safety of people residing along the LoC,” the Minister said.

Rana assessed damages caused by recent shelling incidents and interacted with affected families, expressing solidarity with the victims and concern over the loss of property and livestock. He assured residents that the government remains committed to supporting them through relief and rehabilitation measures.

Following the on-ground assessment, the Minister convened a meeting with Sub-Divisional Officers, directing them to formulate detailed restoration plans for damaged public infrastructure. He stressed the importance of expediting compensation procedures to ensure timely assistance to those impacted.

Emphasising the importance of administrative responsiveness, Rana urged officers to maintain close engagement with affected families and take all necessary steps to restore normalcy in the region. He called for a high level of commitment to public service in addressing the community’s needs.
