National Conference Provincial President Devender Singh Rana on Sunday inaugurated outlet of McDonald, one of the world’s largest fast-food chains, at picturesque Suketar near Jhajjarkotli on the Jammu-Srinagar highway.
“Being local MLA, it is a matter of privilege for me to have a world-class restaurant at a destination that is the centre of attraction for thousands of tourists and travelers who pass through this place 24X365”, Rana said while enumerating the strategic importance of the area on the highway.
Rana, the spokesman said hoped that alongside providing quality food in a clean environment to customers of all segments of society, McDonald’s will generate employment opportunities for locals as well.
He appreciated the state-of-art structure and upkeep of the staff, saying this is befitting to the place that offers nature’s bounty to visitors. He said the McDonald lovers across the country will have a pleasant experience to have this outlet at the entry gate to the Kashmir Valley and Ladakh region.
Rana said Nagrota has immense potential to emerge as a nearest tourist hub for holidayers of Jammu and other peripheries, which calls for adequate infrastructural facilities. He exuded confidence that the local eatery points will also flourish alongside McDonald and work collectively to make the visit of visitors memorable by extending hospitality in a true spirit of Jammu’s heritage.
He said Suketar, Jhajjarkotli, Nandni and other places are famous for local delicacies, which remain the main attraction for people of the nearby areas. He hoped that local varsities of snacks etc and McDonald’s fast food will make a unique blend of foodies.
Rana said the opening of McDonald’s outlet is another milestone for the Nagrota Constituency, which is becoming educational, economic, tourism and sports hub in the region. He said such facilities would go a long way to attract the visitors.
