The Kalakot police in the district have booked an unidentified person in a rape case after the death of an unmarried girl and her newborn baby after Caesarean section at Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital in Jammu.
“An unidentified person has been booked under Section 376 of the IPC for the alleged rape of the unmarried girl. The investigation officer (IO) has been sent to Jammu for medico-legal formalities and other necessary details,” newspaper The Tribune quoted the SHO, Kalalkot police station as having said.
Inspector Sanjay Raina, SHO, said on Friday, family members of the girl brought her from Sialsui village to the health centre at Kalakot. Doctors found the girl pregnant and referred her to GMC at Rajouri, reported The Tribune.
