Srinagar

Police on Saturday detained AIP Supremo and MLA Langate Rasheed on his way to Homeshalibugh where People were protesting against establishing a proposed Army Camp at Shamsipora.

The AIP Spokesman said in a statement said that as soon as Rasheed reached Galandhar a heavy contingent of police detained him and was lodged in Police Station Pantha Chowk.

Party spokesman Adv. Maajid Banday while condemning the incident said that it is shameful on part of the government that it has not been able to fulfill the promise made with the people of Shamsipora which was made yesterday in presence of Deputy Commissioner Islamabad.

The spokesman further added that government is losing its credibility for the reason that rather taking bold decisions to resolve the political dispute of Jammu and Kashmir, it has preferred to exploit and cheat those who voted it to power.

Spokesman condemned Rasheed’s detention and said that the administration stands badly exposed and it is an absolute breach of trust, rather fulfilling the commitment administration preferred to detain Rasheed only to fulfill its vicious designs.
