Srinagar: Incumbent MLA Langate Er Rasheed was on Wednesday detained along with dozens of his supporters in Srinagar after police foiled his march towards the residence of Chief Minister’s against the killings of three civilians in Chadoora yesterday.


Inam-un-Nabi, the spokesperson of Rasheed said that Rasheed was taken into custody outside his office-cum-residence in Jawahar Nagar locality of Srinagar after he tried to march towards the CM’s residence. He was taken to police station Rajbagh.
Talking to Kashmir Life Rasheed said that the hapless people of Kashmir are not even allowed to bury the dead. “This is the height of suppression.”
Three civilians were shot dead after forces opened fire to disperse protesters near an encounter site in Durbugh village of Chadoora yesterday.
