As the upper house of state legislature met Thursday morning, opposition, NC and Congress members, brought an adjournment motion to discuss the thrashing of independent legislator in lower house.
Er Rashid, MLA Langate, was kicked and punched by BJP men in lower house before the legislative assembly met this morning.
As soon as the upper house resumed its business, the opposition sought discussion on ‘lynching’ of Er Rashid. And BJP MLCs demanded action against Er Rashid. “Police were with him; an FIR should lodged against Rashid,” BJP men demanded.
To this Chairperson said, “assembly has its own system to take care of the issue.”
But this could not satisfy the opposition who are on their toes. The BJP and Congress men are in verbal clash while treasury bench is also standing. Meanwhile the ‘business hour’ starts.
The BJP men are sloganeering; “arrest Rashid”.
Meanwhile, the law minister intervened and said, “Rashid is not member of this house. Under constitution, everybody has a right to live his life according to his/her own belief.”
Syed Basharat Bukhari added, “I am ashamed of what happened in lower house. Nobody should take us for a ride.”
