In a significant political development National Conference MP Ghulam Nabi Ratanpuri and independent MLA from Langate Assembly Constituency Engineer Rasheed Sunday attended a function jointly in Pampore area of south Kashmir.

Both Ratanpuri and Rasheed addressed the people who had come to witness an exhibition football match in the area.

Ratanpuri confirmed to a local news agency, KNS that he visited the area along with Rasheed. “When leaders of different parties in Jammu can fight for their rights jointly why can’t Kashmiris do the same?” he asked.

Asked whether it was an indication of formation of third front in the state ahead of Assembly elections next year, the Rajya Sabha member evaded the direct answer. “In the elections we all should be one instead of 30 parties. It dilutes our power. Empowerment of Kashmiris is a must,” he added.
