The Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs, Abdul Rahim Rather has urged for bringing into limelight hitherto unexplored dimensions of the political history of Kashmir adding that much has been written about the history of J&K, there was large scope to write further on its multi dimensional aspects.Rather-9

Speaking at simple function after releasing a book on Tareeq-e-Syasat Kashmir (Political History of Kashmir) written by Afaq Aziz, Rather said that history is the prime source of information that gives an insight about the evolution of culture and civilization adding that onus lies on the scholars and historians of the State to unfold hidden facts about the multi-dimensional treasure of the Kashmir’s political history for preserving it for the posterity.

The function was organized by the Karwan-e-Tahqeeq-w-Saqafat, Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.

A number of scholars, writers, academicians, journalists and political personalities including MLC, Ali Mohammad Dar, Dr Shujat Bukhari, Dr Aziz Hajini, Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad Kaw, Prof. Noor Ahmad Baba, Prof. Ajaz Banday, Dr. Rattan Talashi, Shahid Budgami and Dr. Showkat Farooqi were also present on the occasion.

The Minister said that the edifice of a civilization rests on its history. He said penning down history is a gigantic task which should be unbiased to make it an authentic text about the facts”. He congratulated the author of the ‘Tehreeqe-Syasat Kashmir’ for taking such a bold step and wished him all success in this pursuit.

Dr. Shujat Bukhari, Prof. Noor Mohammad Baba and Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad Kaw read papers on the critical appreciation of the Book and appreciated the author for presenting the Book in a lucid and simplest language. They said that the author has presented crucial and fundamental aspect of the Kashmir history in its globalization dimension. They also pointed out certain short comings in the book and hoped that suggestions expressed by them in this regard shall be ratified in future.
