Road and Buildings officers told their visiting minister Abdul Majid Wani on Sunday that they have completed 42 bridges and culverts during this fiscal.
In a review meeting that Wani presided over, it was revealed that the department has booked an expenditure of Rs 226.57 crore out of the total released outlay of Rs 314.84 crore by the end of December. It was immediately known if it was revenue component or the capital component of the outlays or both put together.
The Minister also received a brief about snow clearance in hilly and far off places. He was told that snow stands cleared from all major roads in Gurez, Tangdar, Uri, Kapran, Gulmarg and Tangmarg. Though the meeting reviewed performance and achievements under NABARD, CRF, JNRM, NFD and other schemes executed by the R&B department, its details were mot made public.
