Reserve Bank of India Governor, Dr Raghuram Rajan Monday began his official tour to Srinagar where will be seen addressing top bankers, having luncheon meeting with chief minister Mufti Sayeed besides chairing SLBC meeting with state finance minister.
Dr Rajan arrived in Kashmir on Saturday and spent weekend at Gulmarg and Pahalgam.
He is will be addressing bosses of SBI, PNB HDFC and CANARA banks—all of whom have already arrived in valley.
“Later, Dr Rajan will have a luncheon meeting with CM Mufti at Dachigam,” sources said.
By 5pm today, he will be chairing SLBC meeting presided by state finance minister, Dr Haseeb Drabu.
“Credit-Deposit ratio, Priority Sector, Sarfeasi Act, land record digitations and other issues of mutual interest are likely to be discussed,” the sources said.
Notably, it is the second visit of RBI Governor, Dr Raghuram Rajan post-floods. Earlier he visited valley on May ending this year. The focus of his earlier visit was rehabilitation of flood-affected businesses and infrastructure in Kashmir.
