SRINAGAR: In the sensational recruitment scam that led to the cancelation of their selection lists by the JK SSB, the federal investigator, CBI has raided more than 30 places across India. This is the second round of raids after the CBI registered a case at the request of the Jammu and Kashmir government.

The raids are reportedly in progress in Jammu, Srinagar, Karnal, Mahendergarh, Rewari, Delhi, Ghaziabad, and Bengaluru. Reports said the federal investigator searched the homes of former JKSSB Chairman Khalid Jehangir, Ashok Kumar Mann, its controller and an examiner, besides some officials of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF. Most of the people having roles in the racket are said to have political connections.

Reports appearing in the media said the investigator has said that it has already collected enough of evidence against the accused.

“Dr Karnail Singh of BSF who is a medical officer, Avinash Gupta owner of tutorial classes, Narayan Dutt, a member of the JKSSB; and private firm Meritrac Private Limited in Bengaluru, which conducted the exams have been named as the accused in the FIR,” an IANS report quoting the CBI said.

These leaks of the question papers were responsible for undoing the selection of 1200 positions in the Jammu and Kashmir government for which the people had studied for many years.
