The NIA has also arrested another alleged associate of the main terrorist behind the Red Fort car bomb attack, intensifying its investigation into the conspiracy that killed fifteen people and injured 32 others.

Officials identified the latest arrest as Jasir Bilal Wani, also known as Danish, a resident of Qazigund in Anantnag district. He was taken into custody in Srinagar by an NIA team and booked under case number RC-21/2025/NIA/DLI, pertaining to the explosion that shook the Red Fort area earlier this year.

According to the agency, Jasir allegedly provided technical support for terror operations, including modifying drones and attempting to fabricate rockets in the period leading up to the blast. These activities were considered critical to the planning and execution of the attack.

The NIA stated that Jasir was an active co-conspirator who collaborated closely with Umar un Nabi, the alleged suicide bomber behind the attack. Investigators said Jasir’s technical expertise played a central role in preparing for the strike.

The agency is continuing to explore multiple leads and lines of inquiry, with teams conducting searches, questioning suspects, and tracing all individuals connected to the plot.

The arrest of Jasir follows Sunday’s detention of Amir Rashid Ali, in whose name the car used in the attack was registered. Amir, a resident of Samboora, Pampore in Jammu and Kashmir, was taken into custody in Delhi. Investigations revealed that he had conspired with Umar un Nabi to carry out the attack.

These arrests mark significant progress in the NIA’s efforts to dismantle the network behind one of the most serious terror incidents of the year.
