Officials said the van will offer doorstep passport services to residents of Kupwara and adjoining areas under the Passport Seva Project, which seeks to deliver transparent and citizen friendly documentation services across the country. The van will remain stationed at the Deputy Commissioners Office Park during the two days.

Regional Passport Officer BS Rawat said the initiative aims to ensure timely and hassle free access for citizens living far from established passport centres. Applicants must book appointments online through the Passport Seva website and select the Passport Van option for a suitable date and time. On arrival, they can seek assistance from the on site team operating the van.

The facility, officials added, is part of ongoing efforts by the Ministry of External Affairs to decentralise passport services and bridge service gaps in underserved regions.
