The announcement was made during a press conference at the forum’s Central Office on Exchange Road, Lal Chowk, where forum president Sajjad Ahmad Parray warned that the protest could be intensified if the Government fails to make progress on the pending regularisation process.

Parray said the forum could resort to hunger strikes and work stoppages if its demand is not addressed.

The forum has been pursuing the regularisation of casual and daily-rated workers for a long time and said the September 1 protest would press the Government to take concrete steps towards resolving the issue.

The proposed agitation is expected to focus on the status of the pending regularisation process and the concerns of workers awaiting a decision on their employment.
