Hurriyat (m) chairperson Mirwaiz Umar Monday paid rich tribute to the survivors of Kunan “mass rape” and expressed solidarity with the survivors and their families on the 25th anniversary of this “malicious, criminal” and inhuman incident.

In a statement issued here, Mirwaiz said that the survivors were yet to receive justice as the culprits were yet to be booked and stressed that the testimonies of the survivors and their families should be an eye-opener for the international community and Rights Bodies.

Appreciating the valour and patience of the survivors, the APHC also decided to organize various programmes on February 23 as a part of ‘Youm-e-Tahafuz Khawateen’.

The programs would highlight various aspects of this shameful act perpetuated by the “Indian Army personnel” and would try to spread awareness among the international community about the incident, the statement added.
