Srinagar
As the government failed to release funds for completing the construction of link road from Chandak to Naradh, in Poonch district of Jammu, earlier taken up under NABARD, the locals of the area collected money and resumed the remaining construction work on Monday.
The link road had been started years ago by the authorities under NABARD but since the last couple of years, work was lying suspended.
“Despite repeated pleas, funds were not released as a result of which the work remained suspended,” locals said.
Left with no alternative, locals of the area finally collected money to have the link road completed.
Meanwhile, on the invitation of the local population, Youth NC Provincial President Ajaz Jan was also present on the occasion.
