Residents of Gulgam village in Batergam area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday staged a protest after a boy went missing from his home.
Omar Farooq Malik, 8, Son of Farooq Ahmad Malik, a class 3rd student, of Gulgam gone missing after he left home at 4 pm on Monday.
“He didn’t get home,” said a protester.
His family and locals searched him everywhere, but couldn’t trace him, he said.
The protesters blocked the Kupwara-Tanghdar road to demand the whereabouts of the missing boy.
The protesters alleged that the authorities deployed force in the area to clear the blockade in wake of some former ministers visit through the area.
Reports said that police has registered a missing report.
