SRINAGAR: Rajni Patil, the congress leader who is in charge of Jammu and Kashmir has said the party high command has not accepted the July 6, resignation of GA Mir as PCC president of Jammu and Kashmir. This suggests that he continues to be head of the party in Jammu and Kashmir.

Patil told reporters that it was decided in Udaipur that leader after serving as president for a long time, he will be removed from the position. It was on this basis that Mir resigned. She said the party is deliberating over the new JKPCC Chief and till that is decided Mir continues to be PCC Chief.

The party leadership, currently embroiled in Sonia Gandhi’s issue, has had some meetings to decide on Mir’s successor but has not been able to have a consensus on one name.
