Admitting that the power supply was badly affected in the Valley, MoS Power, Vaqir Rasool said that the restoration of the power is going on at war basis and supply of electricity has been restored in 85 per cent areas. He said that 13 towers in Poonch area have got damaged due to snowfall and authorities have been directed to restore them immediately.

“I held a meeting with officers and directed them to restore power supply on war footing basis. I agree that the power supply in the Valley was badly affected but the authorities are on job to restore it completely as soon as possible”, said Rasool while talking to a local news agency KNS.

He assured people of Valley that the supply of electricity will be restored in whole Valley very shortly.

When asked about complaints about damaging of transformers in valley, he said “It happens because of heavy snowfall and overloading. We’re also looking for options to stop these damages to provide power supply to people in every season smoothly”.

He appealed the people to utilize the power in judicious and legal way. “We provide power supply to people but at the same time people have responsibility to use it in proper way”, he informed. “Curtailment of power is necessary as every hose hold is using geysers and other electronic machines resulting in over loading”, he added.

He said that it should be understood that power stealing in a crime and whosoever commits it, stern action under law will be taken against him.
