District development commissioner, Islamabad, Farooq Ahmad Shah today chaired a high level meeting of Revenue officers of the district and directed them to take immediate steps for stopping the construction of residential houses and commercial complexes on agricultural land as agriculture being the backbone of rural economy besides is sole source of agricultural produce especially foodgrains.
As per a statement Shah directed the concerned officials to evacuate the unlawful occupation of state land and Kha-charie so that general public can take a sigh of relief and save can be utilized for setting up Industrial Units. He has directed the officers to remain available for the general public and dispose off their day to day matters on priority basis.
Concerned Revenue officers were directed not to allow any kind of unlawful construction activity at tourist destinations especially at Pahalgam.
