Rifle snatching bid was foiled Wednesday noon at Quimoh Kulgam, when some unknown persons tried to snatch rifle of State Bank of India employee.

As per the eye witnesses, panic spread around SBI Quaimoh branch as security guard was attacked by some young men with Chili powder.

Police and army soon reached to the spot and started investigating the matter.

“Some unknown person had tried to snatch rifle of Shafiq Ahmad, a retired head constable who is working as guard in State Bank Of India,” said DSP operation Kulgam Zaheer Abbas. “The attempt was failed and the snatchers left the spot. Identity of them is yet to be ascertained.”

SP Kulgam, Mumtaz Ahmad, said investigation is going on as “our team is working on it.”
