Road Accident In Kashmir Kills 1, Injures 5

SRINAGAR

One person died and five others were injured in different road accidents across the Kashmir Valley.

According to police spokesman, an unidentified vehicle hit a Motorcycle bearing registration number JK05A/1384 near Model Town B, Sopore on resulting in injuries to motorcyclist Ashiq Hussain, resident of Brath Kalan, Sopore and pillion Mohammad Ashiq Khan resident of Seloo, Sopore. Both the injured were shifted to SKIMS, Soura, Srinagar for treatment, where Ashiq Hussain Mir succumbed to his injuries.

In another accident a Tavera bearing registration number JK03/9955 on way from Srinagar to Islamabad hit and injured a pedestrian Mohammad Moosa Mandhar, resident of Kalakote Rajouri at Sethar. The injured was shifted to Sub District Hospital, Bijbehara for treatment where from he was referred to SKIMS, Soura, Srinagar for further treatment.

In another incident, an unidentified vehicle hit a Motorcycle at Ahad Baba Crossing, Sopore, resulting in injuries to Motorcyclist Mohammad Ramzan and pillion Jehangir Ahmad Ganie resident of Nowpora Kalan, Sopore. Both the injured were shifted to Sub District Hospital, Sopore for treatment.

Meanwhile a Tata Indica bearing registration number JK01F/6120 rammed into an electric pole at Old Nishat, Srinagar, resulting in injuries to driver Irshad Ahmad Mir, resident of Awantipora. The injured was shifted to SKIMS, Soura, Srinagar for treatment.  Police registered cases.
