Two vehicles were set on fire after a boy died in a road accident in Rajouri, report said on Monday.
The accident happened late Sunday night when Danish Malik (20), s/o Ghulam Qadir, resident of Kheora village and his friend Rizwan were riding a Scooty an it was hit by a van.
“It dragged them for over 100 metres on Kheora road near district hospital around 10 pm last night,” a newspaper report said. “Danish died on the spot while Rizwan was injured.”
Following the incident, locals rushed to the spot and amid strong anti-admin protests set the vehicle ablaze near Khandli bridge, around four kilometers away from the accident site.
“The situation became worse as people staged protests near the district hospital and allegedly set on fire a police vehicle,” the reports added.
Police have arrested the accused driver, SSP Rajouri told the angry people after pacifying the situation.
