Youth in Kulgam on Tuesday staged a protest in Kulgam district in southern Kashmir against the killings and persecution of Rohingya Muslims.
Reports quoting witnesses said that youth staged a march during which they raised slogans against the Myanmar government.
Earlier, students of Government Degree College Pulwama held massive protests against what they called ethnic cleansing of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.
The students took out a rally raising slogans against Myanmar and in favour of Muslims. As the protesting students reached near the police station they pelted stones on forces.
Similar protests were held in Tral and Pulwama towns yesterday where protesters denounced the Myanmar government over the persecution and killings of Rohingyas.
More than 123,000 Rohingya are said to have fled violence in Myanmar’s Rakhine state since 25 August.
