Terming New Recruitment Policy a ‘cruel joke’, Doctors Association Kashmir Monday said that this policy will result in ‘brain drain’ as more and more doctors will leave the state for better avenues elsewhere in the world.

In a statement, Doctors Association Kashmir president Dr GM Mir while castigating the government said that this policy shows how ‘bankrupt’ government is when it comes to policy making.

“A doctor who finishes his studies after crossing the age of 30 plus years will be eligible for permanent government jobs only after putting in seven more years as contractual service.  To add insult to injury they will only get 25 percent pay only,” he said.

“We strongly condemn this useless policy and  urge government to roll it back or else face agitation. We thought this government will end adhocism and contractualism but they have only legalized it,” the statement quoting Mir reads.
