SRINAGAR: As part of the Prime Minister’s nationwide employment initiative, a Rozgar Mela was organised on Friday at the Border Security Force (BSF) Frontier Headquarters in Kashmir, marking the eighteenth tranche of the programme being conducted simultaneously at 40 locations across the country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed newly recruited candidates through virtual mode, reaffirming the Government of India’s commitment to large-scale employment generation through transparent, time-bound, and merit-based recruitment processes in the Central Government.
At the Srinagar event, appointment letters were handed over to 100 selected Constable (General Duty) candidates of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF). Nationally, more than 61,000 appointment letters were distributed across various ministries and departments under the Rozgar Mela initiative.
The Rozgar Mela programme is aimed at providing meaningful employment opportunities to youth while reinforcing institutional recruitment systems within the Central Government. It also reflects the government’s emphasis on strengthening public service delivery through a young, skilled, and motivated workforce.
Senior officials from participating departments, representatives of recruiting agencies, and the newly appointed candidates attended the event. Family members of the selected candidates welcomed the initiative, describing it as a significant step towards employment generation and fairness in recruitment.
