SRINAGAR: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary informed the Legislative Assembly on Monday that a Preliminary Project Report (PPR) worth Rs 106.87 crore has been prepared for the construction of the Mini Secretariat in Anantnag and submitted to the office of the Deputy Commissioner.

He said the Detailed Project Report (DPR) is under preparation in consultation with the Chief Architect and work will commence once the land is free from encumbrances, administrative approval is obtained, and funds are made available in line with the General Financial Rules and Works Manual.
Choudhary made the statement while responding to a question raised by Legislator Peerzada Mohammad Syed, adding that all ongoing projects in the constituency are being executed on a fast-track basis.
He said the DPR for the construction of a Marriage Hall at Rani Bagh Anantnag, estimated at Rs 499.25 lakh, has been prepared and submitted to the Municipal Committee Anantnag, awaiting administrative approval.
Regarding the incomplete shopping complex at the Old SRTC Yard near the DC Office, the Deputy CM said the department has sought clarifications from the Housing and Urban Development Department on technical sanctions, structural drawings, and related issues. Work will resume once the department responds, he added.
On the proposal for a Tourist Reception Centre behind MMABM Hospital Janglat Mandi Anantnag, Choudhary said no formal communication has been received from the Tourism Department. He assured that once the department sends a formal request, the process will be initiated as per established norms.
