SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has accorded administrative approval to a Rs 18.96 crore water supply scheme for the coverage part of Pulwama town under the Urban Development Sector for the 2026-27 financial year.
The approval was issued by the Housing and Urban Development Department through Government Order No. 61-JK (HUD) of 2026 dated July 30, with the project estimated to cost Rs 1,896.31 lakh.
The scheme has been approved under the DULBK Capex Budget 2026-27, following a communication from the Director of Urban Local Bodies, Kashmir, dated July 22, 2026.
The administrative approval is subject to availability of funds and does not authorise expenditure beyond the budgetary provision, the order said.
The government has stipulated that the detailed project report must be technically vetted by the competent authority and that the work be executed strictly in accordance with the vetted DPR and within the approved cost estimates.
The order also requires the project to use established and viable technology and comply with Central Vigilance Commission guidelines, codal provisions, financial rules and approved specifications.
The project must be designed in accordance with the latest applicable Indian Standards and PWD/CPWD codes and specifications, with the design authenticated and proof-checked by the competent authority before execution.
Electrical, mechanical and electronic components must also be technically vetted and authenticated by the competent authorities concerned. The order further directs that CPWD Plinth Area Rate Schedule specifications applicable to the structures proposed in the DPR be followed during execution.
