Minister for R&B and Parliamentary Affairs Abdul Rehman Veeri informed the house that out of total length of 6 km of the Humhama – Budgam road, the DPR for widening of road from Budgam to Ompora (Phase-I) has been prepared at an estimated cost of Rs 20 crore and  the project has been recommended to Union Ministry of Road Transport & Highways for approval under Central Road Fund.

Replying to a question by Saif-ud-Din Bhat in the upper house, Mr Veeri said that Bugroo-Khansahib-Dodpathri road having a length of 21 kms has been black-topped under CRF at the cost of Rs 21.95 crore.

The Minister said that abutments of the Kanigund bridge connecting Khansahib constituency with Beerwah were constructed long back. “Later, the R&B department framed a DPR for construction of said bridge at an estimated cost of Rs 2.56 crore during 2011-12” the Minister said, adding that due to resource constraints, the construction of the bridge could not be taken up for execution.

Responding to the supplementary question raised by Ramesh Arora, the Minister said that due care would be taken to upgrade the Parmandal and Mathwal roads keeping in view its importance of pilgrimage tourism.
