SRINAGAR: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Handwara, Javed Naseem Masoodi, who also serves as the Adjudicating Officer for the area, imposed fines amounting to Rs 29,000 on several Food Business Operators (FBOs) for violating various provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act (FS&SA), 2006.
According to officials, the fines were levied during proceedings related to cases of misbranded and substandard food products, which had been listed before the Adjudicating Officer under the FS&SA, 2006.
Masoodi issued a stern warning to the erring traders, urging them to strictly adhere to the legal regulations governing food safety. He cautioned that non-compliance with the Food Safety and Standards Act and the rules framed under it would be met with even stricter action in the future.
