Srinagar police arrested a pick pocket from Batamaloo and recovered about Rs 65,000 stolen from commuters from him, a police statement. The pick pocket has been shifted to Central Jail, Srinagar.
“A pick pocket Shabir Ahmad Sheikh son of Bashir Ahmad resident of Haft Chinar, Srinagar was arrested by a police party of Batamaloo police station while stealing a wallet in a commuter bus at Batamaloo. On his questioning, police has recovered so far Rs. 65280 stolen from the commuters from his possession,” the statement said.
He was presented before the Magistrate and was remanded to Central Jail, Srinagar. Further investigation is going on.
