The penalties were handed down during proceedings related to cases of misbranded and substandard food products, which were listed before the Adjudicating Officer. The violations were found to be in contravention of the FS&SA, 2006.

ADC Masoodi warned the erring traders to strictly adhere to legal food safety standards. He further cautioned that any future non-compliance with the Act and the rules framed under it would invite stricter penalties.
