RS Election: Azad Wins Finally, PDP Has Two Seats And BJP One

SRINAGAR

With the results of final round of elections over, Congress heavy weight Ghulam Nabi Azad, who is leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, was declared successful with 30 votes. So was PDP’s Nazir Ahmad laway with 29 votes. BJP’s Chander Mohan trailed with 28 votes.

It is now clear that Hakim Yasin, Yousuf Tarigami and Engineer Rashid voted for Azad and made his political future secure at the most crucial time of his political career. NC and Congress have jointly 27 votes in the state assembly.

Meanwhile Omar Abdullah in his tweet congratulated Azad.

Also, senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori congratulated Azad on his re-election to the Rajya Sabha.
