SRINAGAR: Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Kashmir, Qazi Irfan Rasool, has directed all staff and Assistant Regional Transport Officers (ARTOs) to promptly address pending online issues and ensure strict adherence to the Public Service Guarantee Act (PSGA).
The directive came during a review meeting chaired by Transport Commissioner Vishesh Paul Mahajan during his visit to the Transport Bhawan in Bemina. Mahajan emphasised the importance of efficiency, transparency, and public-friendly operations within the department.
The Transport Commissioner inspected ongoing construction at the Transport Bhawan and instructed the concerned Roads & Buildings (R&B) and Power Development Department (PDD) officials to expedite the completion of the project.
Earlier, Mahajan participated in a series of road safety initiatives in Budgam as part of the National Road Safety Month. These included flagging off mobile awareness units and launching a campaign featuring road safety stickers with messages such as “Drive Safe: Save Lives, Your Family Awaits.”
Speaking at the event, Mahajan highlighted the significance of road safety awareness and called for collective efforts to reduce accidents and fatalities.
The awareness campaign witnessed active participation from local drivers, youth, and community members. Vehicles equipped with safety features will traverse the district, spreading messages of safe driving.
The Commissioner also held discussions with transporters from the valley, assuring them of prompt redressal of their legitimate grievances.
