Full dress rehearsals were held at all the district and Tehsil headquarters of the Kashmir Valley in connection with the 67th Indian Independence Day celebrations, an official statement.

The official statement giving district wise details informed:

At Srinagar, in connection with 67th Independence Day celebrations 2014, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Rohit Kansal after unfurling the Tricolour, inspected the parade and took salute at the march past of full dress rehearsal at Bakshi Stadium here today.

The march past was presented by the contingents of JKP, JKAP, IRP, CRPF, BSF, ITBP, Women Police, State Disaster Response Force, Fire and Emergency Services and school children of various educational institutions besides contingents of Forest Protection Force also took part in the march past.

A variety of colourful cultural programmes were presented by students of Educational Institutions in collaboration with Information, Youth Services and Sports Departments and Cultural Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.

On the occasion, Director General Police, K. Rajendra, Additional Director General of Police S.M. Sahai, Inspector General of Police, Abdul Gani Mir, Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Shah, Director Information, Tasaduq Jeelani besides other officers were also  present.

At Baramulla, a colourful full dress rehearsal was conducted at Government Degree Collage, Baramulla today. Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone unfurled the tricolour and took salute at the march past presented by JKP, JKAP, CRPF, Fire and Emergency Services, NCC and school children besides Army Band participated in the march past. Cultural programmes were also presented.

On the occasion, Senior Superintendent of Police Baramulla, Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, senior officers of civil administration, Police department and huge gathering participated. Cultural programmes were also presented.

At Islamabad, a full dress rehearsal was held at Government Degree College Islamabad (Boys). Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag, Bashir Ahmad Khan took salute on the march past presented by contingents of JKP, JKAP, IRP, CRPF, NCC and school children. Cultural programmes were also presented.

At Budgam, full dress rehearsal was held at District Police Lines, Budgam. The Deputy Commissioner, Budgam, Manzoor Ahmed Lone unfurled the Tricolour and took salute at the march past presented by JKP, JKAP, CRPF, Fire and Emergency Services, NCC and school children. Cultural programmes were also presented.

At Kupwara, a full dress rehearsal was held at District Police Lines, Kupwara. Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara, Itrat Hussain Rafique took salute on the march past presented by contingents of JKP, JKAP, IRP, CRPF, NCC and school children. Cultural programmes were also presented.

At Pulwama, full dress rehearsal was held at District Police Lines, Pulwama. The Deputy Commissioner, Pulwama Sajad Ahmad Khan unfurled the Tricolour and took salute at the march past presented by JKP, JKAP, CRPF, Fire and Emergency Services, NCC and school children. Cultural programmes were also presented.

At Shopian, full dress rehearsal was held at Sports Stadium, Shopian. The Deputy Commissioner, Shopian Bashir Ahmad Bhat unfurled the tricolour and took salute at the march past presented by JKP, JKAP, CRPF, Fire and Emergency Services, NCC and school children. Cultural programmes were also presented.

At Kulgam, a full dress rehearsal was held at Government Degree College, Kulgam. The Deputy Commissioner, Kulgam, Nisar Ahmad Wani unfurled the tricolour and took salute at the march past presented by JKP, JKAP, CRPF, Fire and Emergency Services, NCC and school children. Cultural programmes were also presented.

At Bandipora, a full dress rehearsal was held at S.K. Sports Stadium, Bandipora today. The Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora, Dr. Shah Faisal inspected the parade and took salute on the march past presented by the contingents of JKP, JKAP, IRP, CRPF, NCC and the school children.

Variety programmes being presented on the Independence Day were also selected and for this purpose, a committee of the experts from various departments had already been constituted.

Officers from civil administration, police and army besides public representatives and senior citizens were present on the occasion.

At Ganderbal, a full dress rehearsal was held at Madri Meharban Stadium, Ganderbal. The Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal, Sarmad Hafeez unfurled the tricolour and took salute at the march past presented by JKP, JKAP, CRPF, Fire and Emergency Services, NCC and school children. Cultural programmes were also presented.

Officers from civil administration, police and army besides public representatives and senior citizens also participated.

At Karnah, full dress rehearsal was held at Mini Secretariat, Tangdhar by the Sub Divisional Magistrate Karnah, Zahoor Ahmad Mir followed by the inspection of parade and march past presented by the contingents of JKP, JKAP, NCC and other security forces besides students from the educational institutions.

At Handwara, a similar full dress rehearsal was held at DPL Handwara by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Handwara followed by the inspection of parade and March past presented by the contingents of JKP, JKAP and other security forces besides students from the educational institutions. SSP Handwara and other officers of the departments were also present on the occasion.

The cultural programmes were presented by the Artists of Information Department and students of different educational institutions.
