SRINAGAR: Russia’s recommendation for foreign diplomats and nationals in Kyiv to leave the Ukrainian capital remains in effect, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.
Speaking at a briefing on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum, Zakharova said the Foreign Ministry’s recommendation, issued in May, had not lost its relevance.
“I would like to remind you that the recommendation of the Russian Foreign Ministry issued back in May of this year remains in force,” she said, as reported by Russian state news agency TASS.
Zakharova said the advice applied to the entire diplomatic corps and foreign nationals in Kyiv, citing what she described as Russian forces’ shift towards regular and sustained strikes against Ukraine’s military infrastructure.
“On the contrary, it is not losing its significance,” she said, reiterating the call for foreign diplomats and nationals to evacuate Kyiv.
