National Conference on Thursday said martial arts camps for girl students by the Army in the “frontier” areas of the State was an inadvisable idea as such activities fell into the domain of the Civil Administration.

National Conference District President for Kupwara, MLC Qaiser Jamsheed Lone in a party statement said, “such martial arts camps for girl students should rather be organized by the Civil Administration with appropriate measures taken by deploying all-female staffs and trainers for this exercise instead of the Army conducting such camps.”

“This is the domain of the Civil Administration and the State Government should organize such activities for our girl students under proper and acceptable guidelines so that there are no apprehensions or concerns,” the NC District President Kupwara added.
