JAMMU: Paying tribute to Guru Ravidass Ji on his Jayanti, National Conference Additional General Secretary and former minister Ajay Kumar Sadhotra emphasised the need to imbibe the saint’s teachings of selflessness and righteousness for the harmonious growth of society.
Flagging off a Shobha Yatra at Karwanda in Jammu North Assembly Constituency, Sadhotra highlighted Guru Ravidass Ji’s message of compassion and equality as the foundation of human dignity. The event was organised by Parshotam Lal Thappa, President of Guru Ravidass Satsang Society Karwanda, and his team.
“The best way to celebrate this occasion is by pledging to follow Guruji’s teachings in letter and spirit and work towards a society based on social justice, equality, love, and togetherness,” Sadhotra said. He underscored the enduring relevance of the saint’s teachings, particularly at a time when elements inimical to unity and brotherhood pose challenges to social harmony.
Recalling Guru Ravidass Ji’s contributions, Sadhotra described him as a beacon of light in an era of discrimination based on caste and creed. He noted that the saint’s teachings changed people’s perspectives and guided them towards the right path.
Appealing to devotees participating in the Shobha Yatra, Sadhotra urged them to spread the message of love, peace, and compassion, which he said was the essence of Guru Ravidass Ji’s life and philosophy.
