SRINAGAR: Former Minister and senior National Conference leader Ajay Kumar Sadhotra expressed grief over the sad demise of former Union Minister Babu Raghuvansh Prasad Singh.

In a statement, Sadhotra said, “I have worked with him when he was Union Food and Civil Supplies Minister and I was Food and Civil Supplies Minister in Jammu and Kashmir under the chief ministership of Dr Farooq Abdullah.”

Sadhotra said that he was always helpful and gave priority to the problems of Jammu and Kashmir and ensured that the people of Jammu and Kashmir do not face any sort of food shortage problem.

He further added that he has an association with Babu Raghuvansh Prasad Singh since 1998.

Sadhotra said he was very simple and believed in simple living and high thinking.

“He was down to earth politician and has always worked for the betterment of the common downtrodden people. He was an exceptionally honest politician and has contributed a lot for the Nation and especially for Bihar. His demise has created a political vacuum at the National and State level (Bihar), which is difficult to fill,” said Sadhotra.

National Conference leader in a statement has prayed to God for peace to the departed soul and courage to the kith and kin to bear this great loss.

Babu Raghuvansh Prasad Singh had special relations with Jammu and Kashmir as his grandson has married a woman from Bakshi Nagar Jammu, Sadhotra said in a statement.
